1. What is Binabled?
Binabled is a free Binary Usenet Search Engine with a lot of features to explore. Our engine crawls all usenet newsgroups that contain binary posts and makes them searchable.

2. How much does it cost to use Binabled/sign up?
Nada. Binabled is completely free of charge and will always remain that way.

3. How do I download stuff I find?
Binabled does not offer any files you may find using our search engine. In order to download stuff, you will need access to Usenet newsgroups (the ones that carry binary content, mind you). In some cases, your Internet Service Provider might supply you with Usenet access, however, most ISP Usenet accounts suck. If you are any serious about downloading something off the Usenet, do yourself a favor and sign up for an account at Giganews. They offer days binary retention, incredible speeds, SSL encryption and great prices. Giganews is the best there is. Period.

As soon as you got yourself an account, you will have to get yourself a newsreader. GrabIt will do fine and is free. If you want to go pro and don't mind to pay some money, get NewsLeecher.

Fire up your newsreader and configure it appropriately. You are now ready to download stuff! Just click on the little NZB icon next to the search result you want to download and open the NZB file with your newsreader. Et voilĂ . You're downloading something off the Usenet.

4. Why are some posts >100% complete?
This only happens when posts were uploaded without sticking to the yEnc specification. Even though Binabled will usually index such posts fine, in some cases things might get a little screwed up (blame the poster!).

5. Why are some posts incomplete?
There are three possible reasons: a) the poster stopped uploading, b) the posts did not reach our news server completely or b) the poster did not stick to the yEnc standard and therefore the post got indexed incorrectly.

6. How long are posts kept in your database?
In order to keep up with providers that offer a high retention, posts are currently kept in our database for as long as 100 days.

7. Newsgroup a.b.xyz is missing!
Really? Sorry! Please notify us at contact@binabled.com. Thanks!

8. My post didn't get indexed!
If you sticked to the yEnc specification, please be a little more patient. It will appear here soon. If you didn't, shame on you!

9. How long does it take for new content to be indexed?
The server farm used to run Binabled is very fast. Thus, it usually only takes a few minutes for new posts to be indexed.

10. I would like to thank you for you work. Can I donate money?
First of all: you are welcome. Feel free to donate any amount (even as little as $1) via PayPal. There's more information on our donations page.

11. How did you make this website?
